Show Up Where You’re Meant To Be

Apologies for missing last weeks Blog post! I was stuck on the couch being sick. This reminded me of a few weeks ago when I missed a post due to my dog being sick. Old me would feel guilt for missing these self-imposed deadlines - but current me, understands. I have a philosophy when it comes to self-imposed rules: we need to be fair to ourselves. We need to cultivate a relationship with ourselves. We tend to treat people with more grace than we give ourselves. Why is that? If someone else was sick or dog was sick, would I be patient with them completing their hobbies? I wouldn’t even care the hobby, I’d just worry if they’re going to feel better!

Cultivating a relationship with yourself is important because you’re gonna spend the rest of your life with “the guy” - so you might as well enjoy it! I don’t know about you, but shame and resentment hit me hard like a truck. When I miss one deadline, I just want to throw in the towel on some things. I fear too much on wasted time. But I realize more and more, what matters most is that I come back. I come back to these hobbies of mine. I mean look at me! I’ve been posting blogs almost consistently since January! Remind yourself of your wins!

Sometimes in our lives, other pillars may demand us more than others. My health and my dog took priority. Now those pillars are taken care of, I can go back to my regularly scheduled program! Posting a blog post every Sunday! Next thing on my list, is to get back to work on my game and back to the gym. Thanks for reading!
